WELCOMEAt St Margaret Ward we are strongly committed to the values and principles of the Catholic Church.

As part of the Lasallian network of schools, our Catholic life mirrors the words of our founder, Saint Jean Baptiste de la Salle. Through his teachings, we seek to identify and praise the presence of God in all people and throughout the whole school environment and its wider community. We very much believe in the premise of our students entering our school to learn and then leaving ready to serve the world around them as responsible, successful, confident and caring young adults.

REMINDER

Please do not use the school drive when picking up your child at the end of the day.

The gates are closed between 3:10 and 3:20pm in order to ensure the safety of our children and staff. If you are collecting your child please pick them up from the bus lane at the top of the drive or from the vicinity of Little Chell Lane and please be considerate of the local residents. Thank you for your cooperation.

WELCOME FROM Mr McKennaA very warm welcome to St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy

The Academy is in the Archdiocese of Birmingham, serves the Catholic community of northern Stoke-on-Trent and offers a holistic education in a Christian setting.

Our aim is to provide children, from all abilities and backgrounds, with the best possible opportunities for success. We aspire for all students here to succeed through excellent teaching, uncompromising standards of behaviour and persistent care.

Through the inspiration we find in the words and example of our three patrons, St Margaret Ward, St John Henry Newman and St John Baptiste De La Salle we aspire to provide an education that produces responsible, compassionate, tolerant, courageous, and non-judgemental young people who live their lives with integrity.

We look to the courage and commitment of St. Margaret Ward, born in nearby Congleton and recognised as one of the English Martyrs, who bravely and selflessly attempted save a priest during the English Reformation, and sacrificed her life by refusing to denounce her faith. We aim for our students to be inspired to stay true to themselves and what they know to be right and just.

As a proud member of the Newman Catholic Collegiate we are inspired by the words of Blessed John Henry Newman,

“God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another… I shall do good; I shall do His work.”

We aspire for our students to recognise that they are called to serve others, to nurture them to become citizens and leaders of the future who are determined to leave the world in a better condition that when they found it, committed to always doing good.
