All year 7 students study an exciting and unique integrated curriculum designed to develop independence and to equip students with the attributes essential for success in school and life beyond. These skills are developed through themes designed to allow each student to make progress in a range of National Curriculum subjects. There is a large focus on literacy so that reading, writing, speaking and listening are enhanced across all of the curriculum. Similarly, numeracy and ICT skills are consolidated through this integrated approach. In addition, each student has the opportunity to develop their awareness of the world around them. Students take an active role in understanding current global and environmental issues and so become responsible young citizens.

From year 8 onwards we build on this approach and offer a broad and balanced curriculum, providing all students with opportunities to gain knowledge, understanding and skills. We offer the full range of National Curriculum subjects, icluding religious education as a core subject for all. At key stage 4, there is an opportunity for students to broaden their experiences and choose from a range of courses most suitable to their needs and aspirations, including the English Baccalureate. Study skills continue to be taught so that students learn effectively and become successful learners.

A full and balanced programme of sex education is provided in which we help pupils to understand the physical, emotional and psychological changes that occur during adolescence and their implications on relationships. This course, delivered in partnership between the science and religious education departments, places sexuality within the context of our uniqueness as children of God.

Careers education and guidance is available throughout the school and enhances students' confidence and motivation and raises their aspirations. The strucutred programme gives students the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to manage their career paths and prepare for life beyond school.

Our post-16 students develop their interests in an environment in which they feel secure and with teachers in whom they have confidence. From September 2012, the Trinity Sixth Form will provide quality education for our students and those of three other secondary schools.
